I really need some help my hubby and I are renewing our wedding vows Oct.27th of this year we got married at the court house with just his dad and us now we would like to have a wedding no one is walking me down the isle but would love to wear a very nice dress can anyone help with ideas on what to do i really would be thankful

We did this recently at our church. We had our children "give us away" and our friends and church family were invited to a "reception" in the church hall. We had a wedding cake with the number of years married on the top with a bell.
To make things really lovely, why not have a doll made of you as you looked when you were first married and have it on the table with your cake. It would be lovely and an heirloom for you to love and pass on to your children - a memory of you that you will treasure forever.

Congratulations! Yes, this is acceptable, but remember that this is NOT a wedding. However, YOU CAN incorporate elements of a wedding. Because it is a vow renewal and not an actual (legal) wedding, you are free to have this as you want. Anyone can perform this: a father, brother, son?, although you may also have a minister/priest/wedding officiant if you want. Sure, have a nice dress! You could go with a tea length dress or a long one, just not anything elaborate or with a train, etc. Or a veil. I wouldn't go overboard with "wedding" type of things such as elaborate pew decorations, big vases of flowers, etc., HOWEVER, if you are having a church vow renewal, a simple vase of roses (or whatever flowers YOU like) on each side of the altar would be nice. A reception -- SURE! But again, there should not be any
"wedding" things, such as first dance, bouquet toss, etc. I would definitely have a beautiful cake though! Is this a milestone anniversary? If you have been married for quite a while, you can also put together a slide show of your married life together and show that. I have seen this done at weddings-- with pictures of the bride and groom through the ages. You could do the same thing and also incorporate events from your married life. If you don't have anyone to put a slide show together, a display of pictures would also be nice. I hope you have a beautiful day and happy anniversary!
