I'm getting married in early June and my sister is my maid of honor. She lives across the country and is flying her whole family up for my wedding in southeast michigan... She doesn't have a whole lot of money. She's in her late 20's, I'm 22, and there will be a 19 year old and possibly a 18 year old as well... I really want this night to be special, I want to go out and have fun. I have never been to a strip club, or any club for that matter. I think she's planning on reserving an area in a local pub for the night... BORING! I could sit at a local pub any night. She thinks she has to pay for everyone's night, and can't afford to rent a limo or pay for everyone to go to Danny's... She told me that I'm not allowed to know what her plan for the night is, but she's been talking to my mom and my mom has been asking me questions about it - not knowing that I'm not supposed to know... How do I tell her not to plan something that's going to suck, without her being upset?
Casually drop hints. Look through a magazine and be all like "i want that". I dunno like hint at what you want but don't make it obvious. Is your fiance having a bachelor party? if he is then make obvious questions infront of your sister (or mom) about his that imply that u want certain things for your party. And if ur sis doesn't wanna pay for everyone and all the other ppl decided that it would b a good idea to split the cost for a limo then throw that into the conversation too. Or get one of the girls that's invited (that u r very close to) to go to your sister and talk about it with her. I am in the same situation. My moh is very casual and not into drinking or dance clubs... I want the night to be a final bang. What i am planning on doing is just going along with it, since she wont tell be a single thing about it, and the weekend after i am going out with some friends and my future sis inlaw and having a blast.... Planned with my ideas... No secrets.

I was reading up on etiquette, and the person hosting the party is NOT responsible for footing the bill. Each person pays their own way plus extra to cover the bride (Lucky you!)
