I am at a total loss on what to do for centerpieces!!! I need to decorate 8 10 foot tables... Not to mention the cake table. I was figuring 2 small somethings on each table but other than that I am stuck :( I am on a beans and rice budget for these. Any suggestions on what I could do would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know what your theme is... But I've seen a couple of really cool decorations... I'm not a person for big fluff... I like things nice and simple. On half my tables I'm going to have a candle in a glass jar (I got them at Big Lots) surrounded with really pretty stones and rose petals scatterd around... I think It'll give the simple, but elegant look that I'm looking for!
I have seen people put empty jars on the tables with a few small tea lights around them.
You can then put colored pieces of paper on the table (that are in your color scheme) and ask people at the reception to write notes of encouragment, advice, or whatever they feel like writing.
You and your new hubby can then read these notes after the wedding--or you can seal them in a jar and read them on your 1-year anniversary.
A friend of mine did this at her wedding--and she got some of the nicest letters and notes from her guests.

If you're using long tables a round arangement will get lost on it. I would place long table runners whatever color scheme you're using, and I would look for oval shaped containers, urns or rectangular shaped glass or ceramic containers and fill them with fruits of the season and greens with some flowers nestled here and there in between and in between the containers I would stagger candles.
