Okay ladies (and gentlemen). With all this wedding planning that we've been doing I've hardly taken any time for anything else. It's now time for a TEENY TINY break :-)
I am trying to think of Christmas decorations that I can make. I currently do the painted glass balls and dress them up with ribbons and berries and bells and whatever else I can get my hands on... but now I need to expand my horizons and tackle something a little different.
I checked out Michaels and you were right... they had some GREAT ideas! I practically live at that place so I should have thought to check their web site! Thanks!
Here's something I did that everyone compliments. I've lined my driveway with "lollipops" to go with the sort of Santa's workshop design (no small feat here in FL - LOL).
I bought some white PVC pipe at Home Depot cut to about three feet in length. Bought red tape which I wrapped, candy cane style around the pipe.
Bought some round wooden circles (you can cut them yourself if you prefer), painted them bright red. Cut a notch in the PVC for the circle to sit in.
Then covered the circle with cellophane. Secured it with a rubberband leaving some extra cellophane sticking out of the bottom. Covered the rubberband with waterproof ribbon and tied a bow.
The result? Oversized lollipop -- for around $2 each.
Took a spike and poked that into the ground and left part of it sticking out about six-eight inches. Put the "lollipop" on top of that and framed our driveway. I also focused a spotlight on it. Really cute!
Got the idea when I saw them at a craft show being sold for $10 each! Gee, I love when I can do something that much fun for so little money! :)
