My Measurements
Measurements were taken at the time of purchase to see what size should be ordered from Reem Acra. According to a Reem Acra size chart at the salon I fell in between the size 4 & size 6 catagory. I was mostly a size 4 in the bust & size 6 in the waist & hips. The salon decided to order the gown in a 4 since it is easier to let this gown out at the hips. By the time the wedding date arrived I had lost the 1" around the waist necessary to fit into the 4, but my hips had not really changed. Please see ALTERATIONS for a description of the atlerations done on this gown. My measurements at the time they were taken are below.
**because it is made of silk so it is not very, very bright white**
ALTERATIONS: SLIP TAKEN OUT
There is a built in slip that is located in between the wearer & the silk. Since it is on the inside of the dress the slip is very narrow at the hips. It had to be taken out barely a half an inch on the left & right to allow for it to slide over my hips without bunching at the waist& to allow me to sit comfortably. This alteration had no impact whatsoever on the actual gown.
BUSTLE: TRADITIONAL hooks added at the salon
TULLE:
There is a 3 layer piece of tulle that is located in between the rear of the slip & the rear of the dress. It helps give the train a little bit of structure.
DAMAGE:
There is none that is recognizable. The only "damage" keeping this gown from being labeled "MINT" would be a few beads missing. See below for details.
STAINS:
The cleaners did an excellent job of removing any "dirt" that was along the hemline from walking. There are NO stains of any sort on the dress.
SNAGS:
On the very inside of the hemline there are tiny snags created from the crystals on my shoes, but I have been told that can easily be taken care of. This is on the INSIDE of the hem. Not on the outside where it can be seen.
MISSING BEADS:
To my dismay I received the gown from the salon with a few missing beads. The salon told me that sometimes a few will fall off in transit, during fittings or during alterations. So only a few are missing, but as you can tell from the photos, you can hardly notice. I hardly even noticed - but I want to be completely honest about all aspects of the gown. If you are looking the dress over centimeter for centimeter you will find a few missing here & there. Since there is so much threadwork on the dress the missing beads are well disguised. Also, since there are so few missing, a seamstress could easily replace the beads.

I called and asked her to clairify and she said the part of the gown the has the threadwork & beading is 100% silk. The percentages that I posted include the materials used for the slip, crinoline, etc.
Just sent the shutterfly album for you. They were updating their site so I think I may have sent 4 that were not working. The very last one went thru for sure.
