Hoop slips are rather outdated. Not to mention uncomfortable. You may want the crinoline look instead.
Good Luck!

Thanks Kathy! Did you ever wear the hoops? What is uncomfortable about them?

When you try and sit the entire front of the dress goes up in the air and you sit partially on the wire of the hoop. No, I have never worn one myself - but I know some who have.

Some gowns look much better with hoop slips. You may want to use it for church and for the pictures only, and take it off for the rest of the day/ use a smaller crinoline instead.

Thanks T...
I was reading an article where it said back in the day the hoop slips did flip up but now days they are made better and they say they do not flip up when you sit down. I am having a reception in the church nothin fancy so I am thinking maybe just the hoop would be ok?? They are much cheaper and I need something pretty full as my dress is very full with a cathedral length train.

Re: Difference Between Hoop Slip And Crinoline ??
I think a hoop gives a whole different look then the crinoline! The crinoline will give a full appearance from the waist down, while the hoop gives more the fitted appearance up top and full down the very bottom. You also have to have a heavy gown with the hoop because you can usually see a hoop line with the thinner dresses.
If you are looking for a VERY full pouffy look , your best bet is to use the hoop with a crinoline on top. This will give you the absolute pouf big round look required with very full gowns

Thanks Sher,
I am leaning more towards the hoop . I found one for 30.00 and it has a slip and some crinoline with the hoops. The dress is heavy it weighs 9 lbs..lol
The material on the dress is a heavy satin with a little bit of tulle and a slip built into the dress but its not enough to give it the big poof I want.
