Reading what? I know what I read! I also would like to know how I am Backstabbing? And one thing is for dam sure I am not a CryBaby! I am voicing MY OPINONS on how all of you are nothing but a bunch of GREEN EYED people.Bev c. did not put people down she just gave her story cause after all this was suppose to be a contest about Unique Situations/Weddings and I think hers fits that category.So say what you will about me cause your opinion don't matter to me! I still think all of you who are badmouthing other people should just GROW UP or take yourself out of the contest!! OR BETTER YET Partypop you should just CANCEL the Contest!! Cause no matter who wins there still will be someone saying it wasn't fair!and thats MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!!!!!!!1
I will honestly say that when I read the Hummer Bride's story I truly felt as though she were, unintentional as it may be, putting down my wedding. I never once said that I hope she does not win, and I do not "vote her down" as a few other people seem to be doing. I was just a little offended at some of her wording. If she wins this contest, more power to her and I wish her a happy marriage either way. I am not jealous of her, however, because hummer or no hummer I will be having the wedding of my dreams whether I win this thing or not. They may be smaller dreams, but they will still be my dreams because I'm not one to "settle."
I think that people perhaps feel as though you are "backstabbing" by coming in here and making general remarks about "all" of them that are, quite frankly, not true. Some people may be becoming overly competetive and maybe even jealous, but not everyone. Yes you have the freedom of speech, as we all do, but that freedom was never intended to be used at the sake of another person's self worth. That is no longer freedom of speech, but verbal abuse. Obviously people feel attacked by your comments. I am sure that Miss Hummer Bride also feels attacked and I am not condoning the hurtful words/actions of anyone. If this is how people feel, that is fine. When the conversation turns to name calling and angry comments then it is no longer the simple act of people voicing their opinions.
Back in September I posted a message about how much I liked this board. I said, "Not only do people actually reply, but (for the most part) the people are friendly." I don't want to play mediator, that is not why I come here. Perhaps some of these messages should be read with a little less anger. I, for one, do not intend to demean or put down anyone with this post... good luck to you all in this contest. I don't think I'll be visiting the message board very often anymore.
