Anyone in the process of doing their Order of Service???
I am from the UK, but will shortly be marrying my partner in Brazil. I am trying to translate the order of service for a catholic wedding ceremony from English to Brazilian Portugese. It has caused numerous arguements as what I considered a standard Catholic format (see below) - he says is different in Brazil. The church marrying us emailed us a copy of something which wasn't really what I wanted. I want a more personalised version such as the standard English version which I can translate into both languages.
I have searched the internet, but can't seem to find anything that gives the order in Portugese. Can any one help???
The standard Catholic Version (in English) is as follows :
I am getting married in about 6 months and I am looking at this as well, but fo r your case, some of my closest friends are Brazilian, who were born and raised there. Let me ask them for you and I will post what I find as soon as possible. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Anything you can find would be a great help - I will then translate/match them up with what I already have and hopefully end up with something both sides will be familiar with.
The other question is whether it is necessary for me to have been 'confirmed' - I've heard that Roman Catholic churches in Brazil can be kinda strict... I've just had a nighmare renewing my baptism certificate as it can only be valid within 6 months prior to the wedding!!
If I too can be of any assistance - just let me know. X
