Mexican Theme

My fiancee and myself are both Mexican, and live here in Texas. We are intrested in having a Mexican theme. Any suggestions on center peices, wedding colors, invitations, food, etc... In the movie Mi Familia (My Family) a wedding takes place, and that is something that I want to go with, but a little bit more modern. Thank you!

I`m mexican and got married in Mexico.. My suggestion is to have bright colors, we had giant Sunflowers as centerpieces, on tall glass vases. The food is the most important, so if you can get GOOD mexican dishes go for it. Real mexican food is NOT tex-mex. Have music in spanish, the mood is very important. Serve the food in clay dishes (vajilla de barro) hth :)

What would a mexican wedding be like without mariachis?? i am getting married in three weeks with mariachis playing at the reception. It is also important about the food. Fajitas dont count. I am talking carne asada, carnitas, tortillas, frioles, and maybe even menudo or pozole instead of clam chowder at dinner.

I am having a Folklorico group follow me and my groom into the reception group for our grand entrance. We are also toasting with tequila instead of champagne!
