Just remember people were planning their own weddings before their were wedding planners around. Yes they can be helpful but are not necessary. Get yourself a good wedding planning guide and a good friend to make sure you stay on track and you should be fine. I help my friends plan their weddings...and i am not a formal wedding planner. I am just there to keep them on track and not let them drag their feet. The money you spend on a wedding coordinator can be spent elsewhere. Plus with websites like this it makes it easier too. I have a wedding planner, A Storybook Wedding, in Miami Florida, the company consists of a husband and wife and they are sooooooo lazy.
The cost was $1,300 upfront and as the bride I had to do everything myself !!!
Remember Girls - If you hire a wedding planner make sure the contract states exactly what the wedding planner will do and what she will not do for you. Also make sure you include time frames when the planner will get back to you on referrals/questions. Let me know if you need help.
