Re: How Much Did You Pay?
Dawn, I can easily ask you the same about your pathetic life and marriage, this board is for everyone, the rich, poor and even the ignorant (which is why I understand how you are on this board). $60k is a drop in the bucket for New York, NY. That is a very simple wedding as a matter of a fact for New York. Get yourself educated before you belittle anyone. I have a Masters Degree from Harvard (100% scholarship so don't worry about how much money I am spending anywhere, as it is my money!) so I feel that I am able to educate you on the area people live in and the cost of living for those areas. $60k is a drop in the bucket and a very simple wedding for my area. We all can't live in back hills Kentucky where the weddings cost $10k for what we spend $60k for in New York. To all of the Brides on the board, I wish you all well. If you want to spend $100k on your weddings and you have the money and you have the means to do it and it is what you want, DO IT!!! No one knows your finances but you and you know your limits. If you want doves, page boys, and even a little boy to announce "the bride is cometh", do it. If you want fireworks, praise dancers, a 16 horse drawn carriage and $10k shoes, do it. You have to live with your budget, no one else has to. If you can do it without having to mortgage off your home or putting your kidneys up for collateral, then do what you want. Enjoy your big day because I know for a fact, that this is my until death do us part.

Re: How Much Did You Pay?
This has gotten way out of control and it seems that the folk who are going back and forth on this are BOTH being very immature. Linda did not ask for this and her request should very well be respected. For those who have had 100 thousand dollar weddings or even close to that, I pray that it was what you really wanted because that is all that matters. For those who feel that doves, fireworks and other extravagence are not worth it, it is to that Bride. She wants a memorable day and it is her money to do as she pleases to make her day what she wants it to be. No one is on here to make anyone feel that their wedding is not elegant, Gina did with her money what she wanted for her day and I am sure that you will do with your money what you want to for your day, no one is wrong and no one is right. There is no right and wrong when it comes to a wedding and what the couple and their families want and are willing to pay for and if they go broke, that is on them. It is no ones business but the person who is spending the money. No one on here is paying towards their weddings and it is for them to make their own decisions. They are grown and as adults they can make decision for themselves. Linda is looking for something simple and affordable so Linda, I ask you this, where do you live and maybe I can check around to find price ranges for that area with a little program that I have. I can find price ranges for simple yet elegant weddings in that area. Linda, I am looking to help you with YOUR request. Maybe now we can all be adults and answer your request and not have someone shoot it down like their ideas are the only ones that are right.

Re: How Much Did You Pay?
Dress(Davids Bridal)=900
Bridesmaids(Davids Bridal)=90 each
Bouquet(made own)=40
Bridesmaid bouquets(made own)=20 each
