I do not have money and I want to marry my dear girlfriend of 4 1/2 years. Can someone give some few tips on how to get my wedding being sponsor. Believe me, if I could have money I will not have to bother you. Thank you

Re: Help
If you do not have any money to pay for a wedding, what are you going to live off of after you are married?

Lui, that was rude of me, I apologize. I was having a flash back of my ex, he never had money either. I don't know your situation or anything about you, so I sincerely apologize for that last comment.

Weddings do not need to be big, lavish, expensive affairs. You are just as married if you spend just the bare minimum or the huge dollar amounts some of these weddings can rack up!

Sit down with your girlfriend and discuss the finances with her and together work out a budget plan.

Here are some ideas to save money as you plan your wedding -
Don't go with traditional / formal wedding. Consider doing some kind of theme wedding. I am doing a fifties style theme and theres another person on here doing an Egyptian theme. Theme weddings save on the expense of the formal attire, and are just generally fun for the guests as well as the wedding party. (If you do a theme wedding, discuss a theme that would be close to both of your hearts, wether is something based on a favorite song, a place, a movie, etc, anything goes on the theme choices).

Second - don't rush. Give yourselves plenty of time. If you try to throw a wedding together in a few months on a tight budget, you have more pressure to buy immediately rather than waiting on a sale.

Thrid - choose a location that is already beautiful, like a gazebo in a park, a private beach, etc - whatever you and her would think is very pretty. If the location of the weddng is already very attractive, very minimal decorations are needed to enhance it.

Fourth, enlist the help of friends to help you create decorations - alot of weddings are decorated with silk flowers or a silk, real flower mix.

And conisder a dessert bar reception. Don't plan the reception during a meal time, do it between meals or after the dinner hour. Serve cookies, home made cakes and wedding cake. (IF you have other desserts you can get a small wedding cake).

There are other people on here as well that can probably give you tips on how to save money and do a wedding even on a small budget. Its about the love you have for each other and sharing that celebration with your close friends and family. Nothing else should matter. Good luck to you.
