Help! My sister is my maid of honor. She is plan Mrs.plan America. Now that she is going to have a baby, she is not interested in my wedding at all. I passed on having my best friend as my maid of honor because I thought I should have my sister. Well every time I mention my wedding she replies with how she is feeling. I need help and she is not interested at all. Help! What should I say to her?
Since she is your sister you should be able to speak honestly. I would just tell her that your wedding is the most important day of your life and that you need 100% commitment from her. Tell her you understand totally if she cant focus on your wedding because of her own exciting news and that you would not be offended at all if she wanted to bow out.
That pretty much tells her that she is letting you down and gives her the opportunity to decide whether she wants to be your maid of honor.
Another option is to speak with your mother (if she is in the picture) and tell her what is going on and how you are feeling. Maybe your mother can discreetly approach your sister to see if she wants to bow out.
