My son just got married. His father and I are divorced. His father and I are both remarried, so is the brides parents. The bride's listing of the engagement is as follows,
She named my son's parents with his father and his wife and at the end of the announcement was my name. She also stated her parents were her father and his wife, not her mother who was not listed at all. I know this is incorrect, would like someone's opinion. Family photo's were not of the parent's and the bride and groom but the father's and their wives. The mothers of the children getting married felt like outsiders. This girl needs a MISS Manners Book, huh?
I have the same problem so what I decided to do is omit the parent's names on the invitations and take pictures with my biological mother and father. Then after that I would take a picture with their new wives or husbands.
Liz, so what you are saying is to avoid any bad feelings you left out all parents names and did picture taking appropriately? If so, you are a good daughter.........my son and his wife could take some lessons. Good job.
