I am in the Same boat as you are with trying to plan my own reception. What we decided to do was find 1 location for the Wedding & Reception so it cut down on the cost of Decorations. Our biggest cost will be Tables & Chairs for around $500.00. I bought white Flat twin size sheets to use as Tablecloths at Wal-mart
For $2.50 each. I made our centerpieces 64 for $85.00.
I took a Rose Shaped Votive Holder & attached it to a Taper Candle base for a Flower Effect. I also bought
Silver Metal Baskets for $0.97 for each table. I'm going to weight these with Marbles at the bottom of the Basket use a tulle circle then put Chocolate wrapped candies on top there will also be 8 Balloons attached to each Basket for the guests at each table. We're also sprinkjling heart confetti down the center of each table
As a Accent. I also bought Paper Plates for the Cake to be served on. I also decorated my own Wedding Bubbles. I painted them Lavendar with acryllic paint, Then covered them with 2 rows of Fancy Silver Ribbon,
I glued a Strand of Pearls around the top then put either a Lavendar or a Silver Fabric Rose on top. I spent about $35.00 on these for 250 Bottles of Bubbles & accesories to decorate them. I also made our Wedding Favors fo the Guests I took Wooden flower Pots & painted them White Then out Lavendar ribbon around the bottom & hung Lavendar ribbon through the top to hang them by. It cost $70.00 for the Materials
& supplies for these. Our Biggest Expense will be $450.00 for the Hall $500.00 for the Tables & Chairs.
We are putting together our own Food. We're serving Meat & Cheese Trays, Cookies & Brownie trays, Vegetable Trays, Fruit Trays & Assorted Salads. Our cake will be around $300.00. I Bought all the Flowers for the Wedding for around $65.00. Just find your priorities & whats important to you. Ask you relatives for Help. I've asked People I respect to serve the Cake, I've asked others to serve food, I've got friends helping me with my Flowers & setting up the hall. I bought a Ink Pen for $3.00 on Clearance & Added some Silk Roses for $1.00 to match our Wedding Colors. I got our Guest book for $5.00 At Hobby Lobby. I got 2 photo albums for $8.00. I bought most of our Wedding items on Sale half off at Hobby Lobby for Wedding Supplies, 2/3 off Flowers. Our Invitations were $21.00 for 100 Invitations & R.S.V.P. Cards. We made our Thank You notes by Requesting Samples from the Wedding Catalogs Then Having Thank You written on them in Calligraphy by a Friend. I bought 20 envelopes for $1.00 at the dollar store So they were Around $16.00.
