I am having an Autumn wedding and I really want it to be formal. I have seen plenty of ideas fo informal weddings and I really dislike the idea of pumpkins. Any help at all would be awesome!
I'm also getting married in October. My bridesmaids are wearing dark brown bridesmaid dresses (check out After Six dresses in espresso). Flowers will be orange, red and gold colors We too are going with the maple leaf theme. I'm going to place tall glass cylindars in different sizes on each table. I'm trying to decide on placing different colored pillar candles inside or float preserved/silk maple leaves in water with leaf shaped floating candles on top. I've seen it done both ways and it's beautiful. I'm then going to place berry and leaf garland around the base with small votives. We are also serving pumpkin, apple and cherry pies with the cake. My fiance hates cake but loves pie so we thought pies of the season would be fun.The cake is buttercream and decorated with leaves. We're also giving out little sacks of mulling spices and instructions on how to make mulled wine (we're getting married at a vineyard too). Play up the table linens too, you can use red, orange, rust, brown colored linens instead of plain white. Most craft stores will have great fall crafts come July/August too so keep your eyes open.
