The Belle Arte String Quartet was formed in 1984 by members of the Richmond Symphony to answer a growing need for quality and dependability in the Richmond, Virginia area. Belle Arte is a group with exceedingly high standards! Every member that plays with us is either currently or has in the past, made their living exclusively from playing his or her instrument, so you can be assured of excellence. Our prize instruments and talented musicians have supplied the distinctive sound heard on the samples offered on our website, where our FAQ section is also said to be very helpful. In addition to Richmond and the immediate surrounding areas, we serve as far as the Williamsburg, Tappahannock, Emporia, Charlottesville, Fredricksburg, Charles City County and Farmville areas. We do not serve the D.C. or Baltimore areas.

Our library is based mostly on classical music selections written for string quartets with several frequently requested selections which we can play with a vocalist in their choice of keys. For parties we also have everything from Bicycle Built for Two and Beatles songs to the Muppets Rainbow Connection and much, much more.
