The Marcus Ford Jazz Collective

Headed by guitarist Marcus Ford, the Collective is made up of some of Scotland’s and the UKs leading musicians including the award winning vocalist Niki King.

Whether you are looking for a solo jazz guitarist, a trio to play at a wedding or corporate event, a jazz vocalists or even a 20 piece big band, the Marcus Ford Collective will hit the mark.

Solo Guitar

As one of Scotland’s leading finger-style guitarists, Marcus Ford presents a solo repertoire of classic tunes such as Mona Lisa, What A Wonderful World, Sunny and Someone to Watch Over Me to name a few. His style is cool and intimate with a sound which is best described as tastefully luxurious and self contained.

The Ritz Trio

The Trio have become established as on of the busiest function jazz bands currenly working in Scotland. The music is a mixture of jazz, swing and Latin with a repertoire ranging from dinner and cocktail classics such as The Girl from Ipanema and Take Five, to more up beat numbers such as Sway and Puttin On The Ritz. The Ritz Trio are able to tune the mood substantially for your function, blending into the background during a reception so that people can easily talk, or cooking up a little more energy later on in the evening! They have provided music for numerous private and public events including wedding receptions, corporate parties and PR events plus Christmas, New Year and Valentine Balls.

Alison Burns Trio

Vocalist Alison Burns was discovered by the virtuoso guitarist Martin Taylor, who plays on her debut album "KISSING BUG". The album features a veritable A list of musicians including Martin Taylor (guitar), Guy Barker (trumpet), David Newton (piano), Ewen Vernal (double bass), Jack Emblow (accordion), James Taylor (drums) and of course, Marcus Ford (guitar). In this new line up Alison is joined by Marcus Ford on guitar and Roy Percy on double bass.

Niki King Duo

Since meeting seven years ago Niki and Marcus have performed at concerts throughout the UK and further afield including Germany and Switzerland. Niki King has an impressive catalogue of experience as a vocalist, performer, writer and recording artist. She was the first Scottish singer ever to reach the Perrier Jazz Awards final and went on to win the highly acclaimed accolade of Perrier Young Jazz Vocalist 2001 at the prestigious Cafe de Paris in London.

In April 2006 Marcus and Niki launched their long awaited new album "Twelve O Clock Tales". The Duo is available for jazz festivals and other concert settings.

Andy Mears Big Band

This newly formed big band comprises of twenty of the best big band players in Scotland. The programme ranges from Count Basie Big Band to Glen Miller and is an ideal addition to any jazz festival or major event.
