Avril studied music for 15 years, including four years at university. She was a pianist and percussionist with a symphony orchestra for eight seasons, and has performed in dance bands, as a lounge pianist, and at corporate and private functions.

Repertoire includes classical, standards, pop, blues, new age, and jazz-inflected anything—including jazz-Beethoven and jazz-Bach—and novelty tunes. [Order Happy Birthday in any style whatsoever, including as a dirge…]

As well as being a musician, Avril has worked in marketing, advertising, and event planning – and therefore has a first-person awareness of a partyologist’s needs.

Avril learns about the group she’s entertaining and always offers to include one or two selections that will bring smiles, tears, or goosebumps to special guests. It’s all about magic.

If the event is themed, Avril adds to the spirit in special attire or costume. Otherwise, she wears understated formal or cocktail wear.
