Jose Luis ("Jay-el") Hinojosa, MD is the second of six children to poor, unemployed parents in Mexico. At the age of 7, he and his family immigrated to the USA to begin a new life... one based on education and ethics. He graduated from an Ivy League institution (Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island) and then earned his medical degree from one of the top 5% of all medical schools in the country (University of Cincinnati College of Medicine). Dr. Hinojosa is Medical Director of Hollywood Medical Center in Edinburg, where he specializes in Family Medicine, Pain Management, and Sports Medicine. Having served as official Team Doctor for the US National TaeKwonDo team from 1993-1998, Dr. Hinojosa is world-renowned as a Sports Medicine physician and lecturer. In addition, the Consumers' Research Council of America in Washington, DC has recently bestowed upon Dr. Hinojosa the designation as one of America's Top Family Doctors, an honor he is both humbled by and proud of.
Dr. Hinojosa is a 7th Dan Grand Master in Tae Kwon Do, World Champion (Mexico '03 and Germany '05), multiple Hall of Famer, martial arts professor (South Texas College), and inventor of the wildly popular martial arts card game Grand Champion, which teaches good moral values.
Author of eight books, Dr. Hinojosa is an avid reader and writer. His books include:
