In Jewish traditions, the Bar / Bat Mitzvah is the celebration of a Jewish boy or girl's coming of age, marking the most important time in their life, the time when they become an adult. The Bar/Bat Mitzvah is the occasion associated with a young man or woman being called to read the torah at a Shabbat. At age 13 for boys or age 12 for girls, a Jewish child becomes responsible for their own actions and to bear the responsibility for keeping with the rituals, laws, traditions and ethics of the Jewish faith.

Sounds pretty heavy, but the Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebration is a time to party and celebrate with friends and family. A time to eat the celebratory meal, receive customary Bar/Bat Mitzvah gifts and to eat the Bar/Bat Mitzvah cake.

While Bar/Bat Mitzvah traditions are changing a bit in our modern times, the basics of a Jewish Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah are relatively the same, regardless of which country Jewish boys and girls live in. The Mitzvah Ceremony will include a Shabbat prayer service and ritual reading of the Torah blessings, called the Aliyah La Torah a celebratory meal with friends and family members and at the end of the Mitzvah, the ritual wearing of the Tefilin or Tallit during or at the close of the ceremony. These rituals are usually presided over by a Bar Mitzvah officiant.

With all the pomp and circumstance associated with a Bar / Bat Mitzvah, and the party that follows rivaling the extravagance of a Wedding, we often forget that this most special time in the life of a Jewish young person is a time of reflection, learning, spiritual growth and a time to grow closer to God.

Bar Mitzvah Formal Wear like a Tallit's, are worn during and after the ceremony, the Bar Mitzvah venue is decorated with Themed decorations and Centerpieces are worn and the Mitzvah Ceremony, a Bar Mitzvah Photographer or Videography service will capture the beauty of the ceremony so the Bar Mitzvah Candle lighting ceremony and recitation of the Bar Mitzvah speech or poem is captured and preserved, and a Bar Mitzvah Dj, a Disc Jockey specializing in Bar and Bat Mitzvah's will keep the ceremony moving with Bar Mitzvah music and songs, and during key moments traditional B'nai Mitzvah music will be played to increase the impact of the ceremony.

Planning a Bar or Bat Mitzvah can be a huge undertaking. Since this is the most important day in the entire life of a Jewish youth, the Mitzvah absolutely needs to be a spectacular event! The parents will spare no expense, with only the very best high-end Bar Mitzvah Photographers, Dj's Videographers and Decor, as well as the most lavish event location for Mitzvah's and specialty services such as Oxygen Bars, Photo Booths, Karaoke / American Idol parties, Dance Parties and Video Games. This is going to be one party that no one will ever forget, so for the Mitzvah to be done right, sometimes it's better not to do it yourself, so if you plan on keeping up with the Steins, then you'd be better served to find a professional Mitzvah Planner who specializes in planning Bar and Bat Mitzvah's.
