Modern Cabaret Shows can consist of a mixture of Jazz music, comedy and variety stage performances. Some Cabaret shows might feature Jazz musicians, popular stand up comedians, interpretive dance numbers, musical theater, poetry readings, acrobats, clowns or avant-garde entertainment complete with social commentary all rolled into one stage show specacular.

French Cabaret was born from the Cabaret Clubs in late 19th century France, and was a place where up and coming cabaret artists could try out their acts, and was a place where the local Parisians could get away from the rigours of their daily lives for a while, relax enjoy a drink and a fine cigar. A French Cabaret many times featured a Cabaret Singer who would give a mini-concert accompanied by Cancan Cabaret dancers, and in a way has influenced today's popular culture and entertainment.
