Part 3--Christian Quince Church Service

Part 3--Christian Quince Church Service

The Communion Distribution
Pastor explains how we take Communion. The Communion assistants (__________ and her godmother) go forward, receive the bread and wine, give them to the Pastor, then give them to those who come to receive. As the Pastor gives each person a wafer, she says: "The body of Christ, given for you."
As each person dips a wafer into either the cup of grape juice or wine, the Communion assistants say: "The blood of Christ, shed for you."

After everyone taking Communion have returned to their seats...
Prayer After Communion
P "The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and keep you in his grace. Amen."
"Let us pray...Lord, faithful to your command, we have shared joyfully in this Eucharistic banquet. Pour out upon us the spirit of your love, O Lord, and unite the wills of those whom you have fed with one heavenly food. As we leave here to celebrate another banquet, we ask that you accompany us; keep us strong in faith, full of hope in your grace and united in true love. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

The Blessing and Dismissal
P "To all of you gathered here today to celebrate __________`s fifteenth birthday, may the Lord give you the joy of His spirit and the blessings of His kingdom. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace. Amen."

Pastor signals the organist to begin the recessional music. _________ leads the way out, followed by her parents, her Honor Escort and Honor Court, sponsors, and guests.

Where can I find the original Catholic mass upon which your service was based. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
