Re: Building A Dance Floor
Well, Jan, we actually ended up buying click laminate flooring. To rent the floor would have cost over $1000, just to rent! We bought 400sqft for 99c a sq ft. So we spent a total of about $500. We had a friend put it together for us the day of. It worked out great! Afterwards, we sold the floor for $250.

To Make a Portable Dance Floor:
I`m in the process of making my own portable dance floor for my outside commitment ceremony reception:
3 Pieces of Plywood (1/2" x 2`x4`)
Cover each piece in flooring of choice (hardwood laminate)
With all piece flush together, edge them with metal edgings
It`s that simple! Happy Building!

Re: Building A Dance Floor
If you go with click laminate, all the boxes come with instructions on how to assemble it. You can go to any home depot type store and see an open box and try it out on their floor. Our floor was set up on concrete outside, so we just bought the foam layer ($30ish for 200sqft) to put between the ground and the laminate. It took the guys about 1 1/2hrs to put together 400 sq feet. Granted they both had experience doing it before. Anyway, I hope that helps.

Re: Building A Dance Floor
My dautgher is also getting married in sept and wants a dance floor . She want to get married in our back yard and we also are thinking about building the dance floor. We were going to use thick pieces of plywood and use 12/12 peices of vinyl, the peel and stick . It should`nt cost more then 300 dollars for a 12ft by 12ft . 60 or more people will fit on it. Were just putting it on the lawn.
Going to build

Re: Building A Dance Floor
I am wondering how these floors are working out. My wedding is in June and will be outside. The location is about 300 miles away so i can`t really go "check it out" per say. The idea sounds good, just wondering how it actually hold up...
