I have done a few weddings on a personal friend basis and have been complimented about it. I have been asked if I do this profesionally. I say No. What do I do to become a "real" wedding planner?
I searched through all the different programs available to become a certified wedding planner and I also researched the costs of setting up my business. In May I was accepted into Lovegevity's certification program and this weekend I am doing my first bridal show in Seattle. I own my own business, but I still have the advantage of a reputation to fall back on, which has made building my business much easier.

Perhpas last time I came off a bit harsh. It is just that It is a pet peeve of mine when people don't take the time to read others responses (especially when it is something that they are interested in). And as far as just not reading the posts, well, I had to sit and read it all in order to fish out all of the information I wanted to find out! To me it is just an issue of respect for others. I respect what other people have to say and the advice that they have to give, thus, I read responses. When people don't read and just post the same post 30 times, then they are not respecting the thoughts and advice of others (or other visitors to the message board who are going to have to sift through the mounds of repetitive posts). It is to everyones advantage to take the few minutes to read, as it is far more effecient for all. Sorry if I have offended you all, but this is my view and I finally felt that I needed to say something after visiting the site for a few months and have seen it happen time and time again.
I am 16 years old. I'm gettin the the point in my life where i need to find something that interests me. I'm not sure what college i plan on going to, but I need to find a career that I would like to go into. I think being a wedding planner would be really fun. Do you think I have what it takes? Some of them are courses, some are books and software, either way it may help!
