I really really need some help. I lost my father to a heart attack and my job in January. I am getting married on December of this year 2009. My mom and I booked the hall already 30% of it is paid for. I have no idea where the rest is coming from thus far. I already put layaway on my gown but I don't have no accessories or any undergarments yet. I sometimes think that my dream wedding is never going to come true. My fiancé sister's is going to pay for invitations and favors so that’s cleared. I am lucky because my uncle offered to go half and half with my mom for the videography. At this point I do not know if I will have professional pictures taken. The D.J. Is some what covered my fiancé is going to try to handle that. In addition, I have no idea how I am going to get my flowers.
Every single day I am online searching for a new job I have been on a couple of interviews and still nothing I have been searching high and low but nothing yet. I am not going to give up even though right now is really hard times but my faith will not allow me to give up. Oh by the way my fiancé just graduated from college and he is working a minimum wage job that is not even in his field. But we are thankful he has some money coming in to help pay some of the bills. I basically have 6 months to go until the big day. I live in the Brooklyn, NY area if you think you can help me in anyway possible Thank You So Much In Advance.
Why you just don't postpone the wedding for later on when you financial situation change for better.... This is a very special day , and you don't need the stress out wondering if some one out there will make your dream come tru ..good luck!!
If times are so hard, why are you getting married?Everyone seems to be struggling in today's economy. You may want to rethink having a wedding and going to the justice of the peace where you do not have to worry about the expenses of a wedding ceremony and reception. I think it is in great distaste to even post a message begging people to assist you with the financial responsibility of your wedding. How tacky is that? You should be ashamed of yourself. Get a job like the rest of us. There are lots of people who are unemployed and need assistance but have sense enough to forgo their dreams for the time being because of their circumstances. A wedding doesn't define the love between two people. Suck it up and go to the courthouse and express your love there.
First, I'm sorry to hear about your fathers' passing. My advise to is it to ask around to friends and family and see if they have anything to donate such as flower arrangements or knick knacks they are not using or if any work for businesses that can donate their services. If you can't afford a floral bouquet you can always carry a bible or something sentimental by adding some inexpensive craft tulle. Also check on craigs list for freebies and other sites that you can swap things for to make your day special. Lastly, remember that your wedding doen't have to be eleborate to be special as long as you love each other. Good Luck.
