I too am getting married on New Years eve of this year. I am using the wedding cake that was in Martha Stewart special edition wedding. I have seen others though.
I'm planning a dec 4th wedding and using a snowflake theme.

The newest edition of Weddings (publishers of Martha Stewart's wedding) has weddings by seasons, they have a really nice snowflake wedding cake in the winter section. Check it out, the book is about $10 and it has fabulous pictures.

Me again..bride to be..I sent a message earlier regarding the "Wedding" magazine by the publishers of Martha Stewart's magazine weddings. It's not the Martha Stewart's edition! But since I've read more of these message threads about winter weddings...you must all get this magazine..it has a really nice snowflake cake...and other decorative ideas for winter weddings...almost made me want to have a winter wedding :) but I just got engaged...it'd be tooo soon. It had some nice ideas for center pieces as well....that...may be a little more cost-effective b/c it didn't require flowers...they were using christmas ornament-bulbs in a white and icy blue color scheme..looked niced...the base was a silver vase. Anyway..this magazine will help with you winter themed weddings.

My 65 year old Grandma is getting married in January and wants me to bake the cake. She wants a winter theme but so far i am having no luck at finding this elusive cake design. Everything in our home is decorated in snowflakes ... Year round.... It has to do with some of my deeper feelings about life... What better choice than snowflakes as a theme for a wedding... I have long awaited "my turn" and now I find myself engaged to the MOST AWESOME man... He hunts snowflakes himself.... If anyone out there has any pictures they feel like sharing with me...
