Does anyone have any good ideas for what to use a stand for the cupcake tree? I've seen what they have at cupcaketree.com and was just looking for some other ideas, either different structures or different materials besides cardboard. I was also looking for a cupcake tree. Michael's Craft Store (here in Toronto, Ontario) have a cake tree with 7 tiers and is make of plastic. This is what I will be using.
I just purchased a 3-tier buffet server from Crate & Barrel for $29 - online it is item # 467499 and it shows how they use it for pastries and food serving, as well as for holding plates.
You can tie tulle on the top or do something decorative.
My son's birthday party is coming up next weekend, and I'd love to do a cupcake tree. There isn't time to order one online; does anyone know if these are available at all Michael's Craft stores? Do they sell cake decoration stuff too (icing tubes, plastic novelties to stick on top, etc.)?
