Aalok Mehta is a Los Angeles and NY based multi-instrumentalist,composer,singer-songwriter, actor and sitar player. Aalok Mehta combines his exploration and performance of Indian Classical music on Sitar with his eclectic experiences in various western traditions to create works of music that cover many genres. Starting on harmonium at the age of seven, Aalok later learned keyboards, guitar, sitar (under the guidance of the esteemed Pt. Nayan Ghosh), and voice. Aalok's album "Technicolour" was nominated for an LA Music Award for best Indie Pop record.

Having finished a tour in India following heavy rotation on MTV Asia, Mehta took to the Broadway Stage as an actor/singer in the original Broadway Cast of Andrew Lloyd Weber's and AR Rahman's Bombay Dreams. Aalok is also a session musician and composer with his music featured in Film, TV and Theatre. Some notable artists Aalok has worked/performed along side with include AR Rahman (Oscar winning score for "Slumdog Millionaire"), The B-52s, DJ Zeb (Organic Grooves), DJ Z-trip, Paul Oakenfold, Raje (Timbaland), Ray Manserek (The Doors), Devo, G Love and Special Sauce, DJ RaviDrums, Ed Kawalczyk (Live), Ireesh Lal (Six Degrees Records), Satnaam Singh Ramgotra (Hans Zimmer), Deep Singh (Sting, Fiona Apple), Falu, Yuval Ron, composer Chris Young, and Anisha Nagarajan.

Aalok is currently busy in his West LA studio songwriting, rehearsing, producing Voice Over demos for actors, and producing and scoring videos for , Aalok is back performing live with residencies in Southern California along with new collaborators Ireesh Lal and Neel Agrawal.
