Ying Akkos received her Master of Music degree from the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Music at John Hopkins University. She is highly trained by some of the best teachers in the United States including Robert Willoughby( professor of Peabody Conservatory of Music), Julius Baker(Former principle Flutist of New York philharmonic), Marks Sparks(Former Principal flutist of Baltimore Symphony Orchestra), Roger Martin(Nashville Symphony Orchestra and Professor of Tennessee Tech University).

She has performed with some finest musician in the world like well know flutist Jim Walker and his group "Free Flight", Ying was the only Asian representative invited to perform in Germany for the international Church Festival, She was former Principle Flutist for Shanghai Festival Orchestra in P,R of China (1993). In United States She also performed with Philharmonic Strings in Florida, York Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania, New Valley Symphony in Los Angeles of California, Peabody Symphony Orchestra in Maryland, Aspen Music Festival Orchestra in Colorado. And She was also featured as Flute concert soloist with Bryan Symphony Orchestra in Tennessee, Northeast Arkansas Symphony in Arkansas and Maryville-Alcoa Symphony in Tennessee. Ying award winning experience includes: National Winner of P.R of China National Flute Competition Youth Division in P.R of China, National Winner of Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Artist Competition in United States of America...etc.

Along with her busy professional career she has been performing for wedding ceremonies for the last 10 years. The most popular request is flute solo for beach or garden wedding. Mrs Akkos is also accompanied by a Piano or a keyboard or string quartet on request. Mrs Akkos also owns and operates a full time studio, teaching Flute, Piano, Clarinet and Voice lessons for Panama City, Florida residents.
