Flowers, eggs, rabbits and little chicks are tradition in celebrating the renewal of life on Easter; commemorating the coming of Spring and the resurrection of Jesus. Prepare gift baskets for your kids to find in the morning when they wake up, at the end of the cotton ball trail, or shall we say bunny tail trail. Fill their baskets with chocolate rabbits and eggs, and marshmallow chicks.

If it’s a party you want to play, a party for the kids will be just as fun as if it were a party for the adults. Make sure to send out invitations. Decorate with bunny balloons, balloon sculpture carrots, pastel colored streamers, and lots of flowers. There are so many things you can plan to do to make a memorable event; hire a face painter, rent out a jumper or bounce house, maybe hire a Giant Bunny character to enhance the effect. Set up a scavenger hunt so the parents can be involved. Assign a parent to a group of two or three kids, and let them go house to house in search of items such as: an egg, a cotton ball, a carrot, etc. The first team to return with all the items will receive mini gift baskets, and maybe give the parent a bouquet of spring flowers.

What’s a party without some music for all these outdoor activities? What’s Easter without an Easter egg hunt? You and the parents can airbrush the eggs, and spread around the neighborhood for all the kids to find. Fill them with treats. Then, there is Easter dinner! If you are having a big dinner with lots of people, you may need to rent chairs or tables; also cover the tables with pastel or pattern tablecloths to stay thematic. Whether you are cooking or catering, ham, lamb or chicken is the traditional way to go. There are many options when it comes to celebrating Easter fun.

One of the most important holidays in Judaism, Passover honors the escape of Jews from servitude in Egypt, highlighting redemption, freedom, and thankfulness. It is also a reminder to cherish our freedoms, blessings and families, as well as, the sufferings of which we’ve overcome by staying faithful to God. Lasting 8 days, Passover will always begin at sundown; Jews will try and refrain from eating leavened products, such as rye, wheat, oats, barley or spelt. They may practice removing all of the leavened food products from their homes.

Many will skip work and take this time to vacation with family. Visit a park, a museum, a beach, or garden; take a cruise on a yacht, a helicopter ride, or hot air balloon ride. Do anything that requires quality time with the family. There are plenty of caterers that know what foods to make and how to make them for this particular, most specific, holiday. They are capable of including any Passover qualified foods from matzo balls, brisket and gefilte fish to shank bone, egg, and bitter herbs. Don’t forget the wine!

Celebrating Earth Day, where worldwide more than 192 countries participate in supporting environmental protection and growth, many trees and wildflowers are planted across the globe to prevent erosion, clean pollution, and reduce gas emission. Along with gardening, many celebrate by creating crafts such as birdhouses, singing, participating in community activities, recycling, riding your bike rather than driving, saving water, and cleaning with earth friendly products.

If you choose to participate in this universal tradition, you can find trees or flowers to plant via your local garden shop, or plant rental departments. If you want to get the kids involved, have a puppet show to educate them on the environment. If you are planning on providing food this day for a group of people, seek out a caterer who can present you with healthy, organic meals.

Maybe you can throw a fair or carnival for your community to take part in where musicians can perform eco-friendly songs. People can sell their used books, children’s artwork, and locally grown foods; you can even hire an organically friendly face painter or a magician who performs magic with all recycled items. There are many options to celebrating Earth Day in a safe, environmentally friendly way.
