It seems time passes so quickly. One day your celebrating the birth of your new born baby, passing out cigars and toasting the new life you've brought into the world, and the next, it seems like that child is grown up, married and bringing a new life of their own into the world.
That's why it's so important to find the right portrait photographer to capture the spirit, beauty and grace of your children or family. There are several styles of portraits. The most well-known are the in-studio portraits of the family gathered together smiling for the camera. There are however, many other styles which can truly capture the treasure life.
Location portraits shot against the background of nature can be perfect for a couple in love or a bridal, groom, wedding, family or child portrait. Pictured in quaint, serene vistas with natural lighting, the attention to detail allow to the subject to be truly telling and expressive. The finished portrait is not just a mere record of a moment in time, but a masterpiece so artistic it must be framed and treasured for years to come.
Still another style of photography is more for children’s portraits. The costume portrait. It pictures the subject in full costume in surroundings from another era, or just plain fantasy. Imagine your child is Tom Sawyer fishing the Mississippi, or your daughter is a fairy princess of the forest. Perhaps your children are Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid pictured in amber hued Old Time Photos. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
Choosing the right portrait photographer is as important as choosing the right wedding photographer. The most important thing is to find a professional photographer with a good portfolio of work. Often times portrait studios won't accommodate a location shoot and vice-versa so it's extremely important to have in mind which style you want before hand.
When you've gotten in touch with the photographer, ask to see some samples of their work and interview them, do a personality test because you’re dependent on them to bring out the very best in you.
