Bar Mitzvah Candle Lighting.

I have searched high & low for brief poems for my son's
Bar Mitzvah candle lighting. I'd like each verse to
Rhyme with each number through 14. I'm hoping someone
Is willing to SHARE theirs. Anyone willing to help and
Not solicit a fee?

You are not going to find the rhymes in a book
So don't even begin to look
Just take the alphabet A to Z
And you will get it all for free

The number one it rhymes with fun
The number two, it's just for you
The number three it's just a breeze
The number four, so what's in store?
The number five, and all that jive
The number six, it's my best pick
The number seven, her cakes are heaven
The number eight and I think they're great
The number nine, let's raise our wine
The number ten for Michael and Ben
The number eleven, it rhymes with seven
The number twelve let's not dwell
The number thirteen, what a sweet teen
The number fourteen is the one and now we can say that we are all done......
Best of luck, VIKI

I'm stuck. How many candles are usually used for candlelighting? Excluding the one for good luck?

Have some friends/family over and just brainstorm. The Scholastic Rhyming Dictionary is really a great tool.

A standard candlelighting ceremony is 14 entities. It is based on 13 candles on a birthday cake and one for good luck. If a memorial candle is wanted - I always make it first. The immediate family is at the end with the Bar/Bat Mitzvah child lighting the last candle. By the way if candles cannot be used there are many other ways to do it tying in with a theme. I specialize in writing them if you are in need of my services you may call me at 818-727-7636 which is really 727 - POEM.
Good luck. Eileen

I tried very hard with my son to do his candle poems. There were some relatives that HAD to be called up who we don`t always see too often and then there were relatives from my X husband`s side who we were at a loss for. Thankfully I was referred to a wonderful gal who took all the stress out of this part of the Bar Mitzvah and made a wonderful presentation for my son. He got lots of raves and was pleased as punch. If anyone is interested you can email me for info at BzeBee1063 and AOL is my provider. Sometimes it is worth it to get the stress off our heads, so much was spent on everything else to make the day just right!

For someone who can really help out on those candle poems I found a site at www.poemplus.com and got them done real fast. They really made all my family and close friends feel like their poem was writen just for them from us and everyone raved at our ceremony. A few of my friends have used poemsplus for even other occasions and were all quite pleased. I am going to let her do a poem for my parents 50th anniversary, they should love that.

I just checked out that www.poemsplus.com site and it sure didn`t look Chinese to me. That made me curious since I never really met a Chinese Jew who would reqire Bar Mitzvah poems for a candle lighting ;-)

Hi,
I can see that your posting is quite dated at this point, but I am now starting to work on my daughter`s candle lighting ceremony. Did anyone share suggestions with you that you would be interested in passing on? Any suggestions are helpful.

Thanks so much.

Okay everyone,
Im israeli and know a lot about bat mitzvahs...and you NEVER have 7?? candles?? i never heard of that..you have 13! or if your child is 13 (and having it late , unless your child is a boy) then it would be 14. One for good luck if u think thats necessary.
