Irby Gascon grew up in Natchez Mississippi and always had a love for music. He was first introduced to music at age seven and began studying classical piano at age ten. With the encouragement of family and friends, Irby set out to pursue his dream to sing. He formed several original bands, ranging from rock & roll to rhythm and blues. In each project, Irby held the spotlight as lead singer and creative director. He instantly discovered his natural abilities and versatility with his voice and expanded his talent through song writing and formal vocal training. He studied at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux Louisiana, and his training began with personal instruction from accomplished vocal instructors Dr. Charlotte Pipes and Dr. Kenneth Claus. In 1988 he joined the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers and was a featured vocalist in operas such as The Marriage of Figaro, Der Freuscheuts, Amahl and the Night Visitors and West Side Story.
In 1989, Irby set out for California, where he immediately was cast as the lead singer for one of LA’s most popular swing band Zoot Suit Revue. In 1999 he was cast as Elvis Presley in a stage production music revue Hurray for Hollywood in Los Angeles, CA and with encouragement of now wife Bella Vlasis (who has worked professionally in the celebrity impersonator field for over 20 years) Irby has refined his Elvis Tribute Show and his live show features an hour long Tribute to the King of rock and roll, with a 12 piece Orchestra, back-up dancers and several costume changes. “His Elvis Tribute Show is one of the best Tribute acts ever”. People still argue that Irby is lip-syncing, but all of Irby’s shows are always live.
He has worked on the corporate circuit, private events, weddings, fairs, industry parties, night clubs, and charity foundation special events. Irby’s voice has been featured on numerous video games and television commercials in Japan.
