My name is Dorie Kong. I am a Malaysian born Chinese, an Award Winning Designer since 1977. I obtained my degree in fashion design, pattern making and dress construction in Singapore. I am a Business and Marketing double major. I formerly operated my own fashion designing and dress marking institute and a fashion boutique for over ten years in Malaysia. I am also a trained Cosmetic Aesthetician, graduating in Singapore. I had been a Cosmetic Beauty Consultant while being a dressmaking Instructor.

Since I immigrated to the USA since the early 90's. I have been actively involved in the pageant and bridal industries. I have traveled extensively in Europe (Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK) doing fashion research, attending fashion seminars and international fashion expositions to further the advancement of my fashion knowledge. I have also traveled to Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Canada and Mexico, while researching different and new fashion ideas to equip myself as to meet clients’ needs. Besides designing fashions, learning languages is also my passion. Besides being able to speak my native Mandarin, I can also speak five other major Chinese commonly spoken dialects, Malaysian and Indonesian Malay languages, two other Malaysia native languages, some Japanese, Spanish and Italian and also English. I like to be involved in my community, offering FREE pageant, prom, and bridal initial designing consultation. When prom season is arriving, I help girls from different high schools and conduct free modeling lessons in preparation for the prom fashion shows.
