Internationally acclaimed concert artist, composer, recording artist, author and educator, Alfredo Rolando Ortiz considers his "most important concert" playing the harp in the delivery room during the birth of his second daughter.
When not traveling for recitals or concerts, he is available for a wide variety of special events at any location in Southern California, including WEDDINGS, PRIVATE EVENTS, CORPORATE EVENTS and more.
His repertoire includes classical, popular and traditional music from many countries, as well as original compositions, "your favorites" and "Latin favorites." His website focuses on his international concert career, but visiting it you can enjoy VIDEOS and AUDIO SAMPLES and imagine what his music could add to your wedding or special event. His own wedding march is selected by well over half of the brides instead of the traditional wedding march. .
In 2007, Dr. Alfredo Rolando Ortiz was invited to compose a piece to be premiered on July 22, 2008, during the Tenth World Harp Congress in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The piece was eventually performed by 232 harpists (including Alfredo), breaking the Guinness World Record of the largest harp ensemble ever.
Dr. Ortiz has performed in more than twenty countries and has been featured soloist at all international harp events, including five times at the WORLD HARP CONGRESS. He has recorded over forty albums and is the winner of a GOLD RECORD.
His acclaimed “South American Suite for Harp and Orchestra” premiered March 3, 1996. Dr Ortiz was invited to perform his Suite at the World Harp Congress in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1999, with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, having as audience over one thousand classical harpists from around the world.
