As a professional piper serving the tri-state area, Darius Kaufmann has 15 years experience playing the Highland Bagpipes for weddings, parties, corporate events and social occasions. He has been a member of several competition pipe bands in the N.Y. area, including the Glen Rock Pipe Band, Inis Fada, and the Monaghan Pipe Band. He has competed in both solo and band competitions at Irish and Scottish games throughout the Northeast, and has appeared in the N.Y. Times and on network T.V. In 1998, he performed "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes as part of a nationally televised advertisement for the 1998 Winter Olympic Games, and he was recently heard on NBC's Late Night With Conan O'Brien.

Darius also performs on the Irish whistle (penny whistle) and bodhran (frame drum), both solo and with an ensemble. On the whistle, he has recorded with Tom Chapin on the Grammy-nominated CD "Around the World and Back Again", and performed with Sinead O'Connor on The Tonight Show and NBC Today.
