"The Chief Shabbona Fire Academy was started with the intention of unifying the training of several Will and Grundy County, Illinois Fire Departments. David played at my father’s funeral in Chicago. He was a gift given to us by our friends in Arlington, Virginia who were unable to attend the service. He played his pipes as we exited the chapel at the cemetery. Everyone was captivated by his presence and their attention was focused on the piper and his music.
