I grew up on a farm in southeastern Washington. The first moment I thought of myself as a photographer was when I had no camera at all. Forty mile per hour winds were buffeting alfalfa fields so that with every gust it looked like a herd of mice scampering up the hill. That's a moment I want in a photograph, I thought.
Everything is changing, and I am in love with capturing the moment as it happens. With every couple I shoot, it's an honor to know that it will be my photographs they turn to, one year, five years, or twenty-five years later, to catch a glimpse into their past.
