What’s Your Sun Sign? I bet you know. Most everyone does; even the woman who declared, “I don’t believe in astrology because I am a Capricorn.” People know if they are an Aries, Taurus or Gemini, or any of the other signs, but don’t really know what that means. I can tell you.

We’re much more than our sun signs. We are complex, evolving human beings. A chart consists of thousands of aspects that reveal character, trends and experiences. The sun sign alone doesn’t give a complete personality profile, but it provides vast amounts of information that lead to insight and understanding.

When I met my husband Ken, a cynical, left brained, rational man, he thought I was almost perfect until he learned I was astrologer. His reaction: it was the most ridiculous thing he’d ever heard. How could I, an intelligent woman, believe such nonsense? Ken prizes his intelligence. He’s a member of Mensa, the high IQ society, and his sun is in Libra, a mental, Air Sign. Ken never considered astrology worthy of his attention.

Being a conscious and careful astrologer, I requested and received Ken’s date, time and place of birth. I did his natal (birth) chart and a relationship chart that compared our birth charts. Oh, no! It wasn’t a pretty sight; I saw indicators of nasty, hurtful fights. My instincts knew this didn’t describe our relationship, so I went ahead and dated him.

Over the months together the fights didn’t happen. I told him, “You’ve given me the wrong birth time.” He maintained the time was correct. I married him, knowing the birth time he had given me was wrong. Two weeks after our wedding, while at his bank getting papers from his safe deposit box; he discovered his original birth certificate. Shocked and speechless, he saw that he had given me the wrong time. Ken is now my biggest supporter, and understands why intelligent people believe in astrology.

Life challenges us to express our sun sign fully and with integrity. To do this we must look inward, understand what motivates us: our beliefs, fears, hopes, feelings, thoughts and how we express them.
