Did your wedding already happen? It’s not too late to call!

If you are here, you are probably planning a wedding. I’d like to tell you a little about myself.

I am a life long resident of Greenwich, CT. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications/Marketing from Fordham University in New York. Following graduation, I worked in advertising at Young & Rubicam in New York City. After leaving Manhattan, I returned to a local publishing company working in page payout design and graphics. I left that position in 1992 to start my business in floral preservation.

I was trained in fresh floral design at the New York Botanical Gardens. I have worked with both fresh and dried flowers feeling strongly that if I am going to properly take a bouquet apart, it is necessary to know what went into putting it together. I have mastered the technique of floral color preservation. I use my design sense to create finished pieces of art primarily from wedding bouquets. I have taught other professionals in the field using my technique for preservation and design. I am constantly striving to lean more and remain current in the latest treatments. My service is unique in that I provide more than one kind of preservation. My brides have the option of having their bouquets freeze dried or pressed. I am honored any time a bride chooses me to use my creative talent and ability to make a one of a kind piece of art with their wedding flowers.

During the past more than 15 years in business, I have also held an insurance license and work part time managing the employee benefits division for a local insurance agency. In my spare time, I speak publicly to students and groups of the importance of organ donation and about how it has personally affected my family.

Thanks for taking the time to read about me. I work from home by appointment where I live with my husband and three children. It would be my pleasure to have you let me turn your bouquet into something absolutely beautiful that you can keep for a lifetime!

Commonly asked questions

How long have you been in business?
It started out as a talent I used to create gifts for friends and family. From there it became a business and has officially been since 1992.

What is the process?
That will depend on the type of preservation chosen. I offer both freeze drying and pressing as options. In either case, it is important to start the preservation process as soon as possible following the wedding.

What is the difference between pressing and freeze drying?
The major difference is in the look of the finished piece of art. Flowers that have been pressed are arranged on a fabric background and framed. Freeze dried pieces are three dimensional and placed in domed frames, shadow boxes or tabletop containers.

How are the flowers treated?
Both processes involve pre and post color treatments. Flower that are pressed are put into presses until dried. Freeze dried flowers are placed in a freeze dryer which is an intricate piece of equipment that extract the moisture from the flowers without going through the liquid phase. This process of extracting water is called sublimation and is what maintains the shape of the flower.

Are there any flowers that don’t preserve well?
That depends on which process you have chosen. Some flowers lend themselves better to one process over another. Individual recommendations can be made based on what you are carrying. In put prior to your wedding is available.

When should I place my order?
Certain times of the year can be quite busy. Spring and fall are hectic. Arrangements should be made a few months before your wedding.

What should I do with my flowers after my wedding?
You should keep the stems moist and the arrangement cool until picked up or delivered. Flowers should never be placed in a freezer as this will damage them and make the preservation process impossible.

How should I get my flowers to you?
Call to coordinate. Drop off by appointment or pick up is available if arrangements are made prior to your wedding.

When do I need to pick out my frame?
That doesn’t have to happen until after the wedding. Some brides can do it all at the initial consultation which ideally is held prior to the wedding but quite often brides need to see their bouquet before deciding? Either way is fine.

My wedding has already happened. What now?
It’s not too late! Contact me via phone to arrange a time to drop them off as soon as possible. There is no need to choose the way the finished piece will look. That can be done at a later time. You will need to choose if you want it freeze dried or pressed and a deposit is required.

How soon do you need my flowers?
As soon as possible following your wedding. Call to make arrangements.

How long does it take?
At most, a few months provided that we have your frame chosen and materials ordered within a timely manner.

How much does it cost?
That will depend on the container you choose for your finished piece. An average piece will cost between $300 and $400. There are not additional costs. The price of the finished piece includes the cost of the preservation process. A $200 deposit is due to book and hole your space. The balance is when the frame is chosen.

How do I order?
That’s easy! Call or email with questions. A deposit will hold your space to ensure ample time to properly treat your flowers. There are a limited number of spaces so calling ahead is recommended.
