Jamilah is Middle Eastern dancer based in Northern New Jersey who has worked diligently throughout the years to establish herself as a well respected and professional dancer. She has graced many venues with her sparkly presence and captivating performances. Known as a Latin Beauty with an uncanny understanding for Oriental dance, she makes any event one to remember.
Jamilah has 20 years of overall professional dance experience. Her Middle dance training includes Traditional Egyptian, Egyptian Cabaret, American Cabaret and Fusion. She has studied this dance form for many years and has trained extensively with some of the top instructors in the United States and abroad.
Jamilah is currently a member of Temple of Jehan directed by the world famous Jehan Kamal, Rakaset El Layla a dance troupe directed by Yasmeen El'Qahira in New Jersey and an active member of The NileSide Dancers, a dance company directed by the New York icon Gamila El Masri. She is also one of three members of D'Veena. A dance company formed 2009 by three of the top dancers in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania (Cristina, Jamilah & Naima). D'Veena puts on memorable group performances for weddings and special events.
In addition to Middle Eastern Dance Jamilah also has a vast professional background in Colombian Folklore, Salsa, as well as other Latin dance forms. Jamilah currently performs weekly in the tri-state area in popular restaurants, clubs, and is also available for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, and festivals.
