FAQ:
What is your background?: I have been airbrushing for over 20 years. I originally painted T-shirts in Florida, but recently have gotten into the face painting business. I also work as an airbrush instructor. I am the mother of 4 daughters. I am also an assistant instructor in the Airbrush Mastery Class at the popular Airbrush Action Magazine Getaways
When are you available? Any day but Sundays. Although I work year round, Halloween is my favorite time of year to paint faces (check out my gallery at www.amazonairbrush.vpweb.com)
I want to hire a face painter, but I am unfamiliar with airbrushing. Can you use a traditional paint brush? Yes. Depending on the clients needs, I will use either my airbrush or a paint brush or both. I have found out most children under the age of 9 have a hard time sitting still with the airbrush. It tickles their face too much. But again, it depends on the person.
What type of product do you use? I use make-up that is solely manufactured for body and face painting. The make-up I use is high quality, water-based, durable, and washes off with soap and water. It has many natural ingredients including avocado oil and green tea.
How long will it last? The airbrush make-up dries immediately and will stay on until you wash it off with soap. The pan makeup (applied with a paint brush) takes a minute or two to dry but also stays on until you wash it off.
Will it smear? The airbrush makeup will not smear, and the pan makeup will not smear unless it is still wet or gets wet. But even then, some colors will stay on unless you use soap.
Why Airbrush? Airbrush face painting is a lot quicker than traditional paint brush face painting. If you expect a big crowd , airbrush is the way to go. No one likes to wait in line. With airbrush, I can use a stencil and have a two color design completed in 30 seconds or less. Free-hand airbrushing (without using a stencil) is also quicker (most full face designs take about 3-4 minutes) than using a paint brush. The color blending characterized by airbrush is amazing, and it is fun to watch!

Do you do full body makeup? No. I will, however, consider if the model wears a top and bottom that considerably covers him or her.

What are your rates? Rates are $100 per hour for one artist, $150 for two. I would recommend 2 artists if you plan on having 30 people or more that are going to be face painted. An out-of-area fee may be applied depending on driving time.
