My name is Alison Beachem and I am a photographer in San Diego, California. I photograph maternity, babies, children, families, high school seniors, engagements and last but not least, multiples. I love photographing families. Whether it is mom kissing her toddler son or dad with his arm around his 20 year old daughter, there is something about families interacting and being who they are that just gets me. Family shoots have a stereotype of being stressful and stiff. But with me, I want your family photo session to be something that your family remembers as a fun and wonderful time together. And that is what I will capture. Not what your family looks like but who your family is. My photography style is very relaxed. Capturing the connections between people rather than the connection with the camera. I want to capture the essence of what makes your family just that. yours.

I only use natural light which makes for a lively atmosphere without lights and staging. Shooting at your home or on location in San Diego offers variety and spontaneity. Some favorite places for family photos are at the beach, balboa park, downtown, San Dieguito park, and your home. But we can go anywhere. The best photographs happen with a lot of play and just being who you are as a family. The less everyone tries, the better everything turns out.
