Founded by Moishe Rosenfeld in ****, the company was named for the successful musical he and Zalmen Mlotek created in the ****’s, which celebrated the lives and contributions of immigrant Jews who settled in America during the late **th and early **th centuries. A central theme of The Golden Land was the powerful nurturing role played by music and the arts in allowing the “huddled masses” to adapt to their new lives in America.
