Darius Kaufmann
Bagpipes for All Occasions

As a professional piper serving the NY tri-state area, Darius Kaufmann has 20 years experience playing the Highland Bagpipes for weddings, parties, corporate events and social occasions. He has been a member of several competition pipe bands in the N.Y. area, Inis Fada, and the Monaghan Pipe Band. He has competed in both solo and band competitions at Irish and Scottish games throughout the Northeast, and has appeared in the N.Y. Times and on network T.V. In 1998, he performed "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes as part of a nationally televised advertisement for the 1998 Winter Olympic Games. Recently, he was heard on NBC's Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and performed live on ABC's "Good Morning America".

Darius also performs on the Irish whistle (penny whistle) and bodhran (frame drum), both solo and with an ensemble. On the whistle, he has recorded with Tom Chapin on the Grammy-nominated CD "Around the World and Back Again", and performed with Sinead O'Connor on The Tonight Show and NBC Today.
