PARTY-STYLE CARICATURES

Judy, a self-taught caricaturist (and formally educated graphic designer), has always loved to draw people in particular, possessing a knack for capturing a flattering resemblance. As a natural extension of her talent for portraiture, she has developed a unique caricature style, which are in essence "cartoon portraits or "portraicatures", either headshots, or large heads with small bodies (but decidedly different from the over-exaggerated or unflattering style that can be grossly inaccurate in portraying a person's distinct features).

A down-to-earth social and friendly person, Judy provides a fun yet less conspicuous form of entertainment at any event, small or large, which in turn yields personalized keepsakes. She has a tendency to make people feel at ease, while they pose for her artistry and she enjoys people gathering around to watch. After all, her specialty is not only to provide the keepsakes, but also to provide a distinctive form of entertainment.

Since 2002, Judy has drawn at numerous private gatherings such as Bar/Bat Mitzvah's, birthday and graduation parties, corporate events, holiday parties, weddings, open houses/grand openings, post-prom /project graduation festivities, school events, charity fundraisers, festivals and even nightclubs, and has drawn along side some of her fellow caricaturists for some larger events. If more than one artist is needed for your event, she can secure one for you.

At parties/events, she averages in color (see party samples at left) between 7 and 9 one person drawings per hour in color and between 9 and 12 in BW depending on props, backgrounds and whether headshots or full bodies. Her party rate for direct bookings starts at $100 per hour up to $150, depending on distance. Please email or call for a precise quotation.

If you have a definite date or event in mind, please contact her at least a month prior for best chance at availability, especially during peak season (typically May – August). One-third deposit is required to confirm date. Presently, she does the drawings on plain paper, or she can have predesigned border or theme pose papers created, and offers her "Scenezine" mock framed "magazine-cover-like" papers.

CUSTOM GIFT CARICATURES/MEMENTOS

Judy also creates more detailed, gift-style caricatures and sign-in boards (see gift/sign in board samples at lower left) in various sizes from photos. Most gifts are provided with coordinating color mat (12 x 16 to 18 x 24). Sign-in boards are drawn to size and mounted or drawn smaller and digitally sized, enhanced and printed then mounted, and can be laminated if desired (18 x 24 to 24 x 36). Fifty percent deposit is required before work begins.

Now that her website was launched in April 2010, Judy displays samples of other custom party gifts or favors featuring caricature/theme such as invitations, candy bar wrappers, place cards and thank you notes, welcome posters, lawn signs, souvenir/ commemorative t-shirts, cakes, magnets, mugs, plates, mouse pads, keychains, steins, pins and jigsaw puzzles, all with the guest of honor in detailed caricature form. These can be ordered in conjunction with and featuring a custom caricature, and are priced upon request. Most items have no minimum quantities.
