You can be married in a simple civil ceremony in our office or a formal ceremony at your home or private venue. Elope Hollywood is authorized to issue the California Confidential Marriage License (for Los Angeles County weddings only) and our wedding officiant conduct your ceremony. There is no waiting period in California and you do not need a blood test.

Frequently Asked Questions & How to obtain a California Marriage License
If you are getting married in California you will need to obtain a marriage license. The marriage must be solemnized with a wedding ceremony. The bride and groom must appear together in person at the county clerks office or with a notary to obtain the marriage license.

What is the difference of your service and a Las Vegas wedding?
We have a *-step process, that is, ceremony and license at the same place, on the same day. We can marry you at your home, a park or anywhere you like. We provide the license the same day as your ceremony.

In Las Vegas there is a *-step process, you need to first (*) travel to the county clerk to obtain your marriage license and then, second (*) go to the wedding chapel to get married.

Where does the uniting couple go to obtain our marriage license?
We can travel to your home or wedding ceremony location. We are authorized to issue the California confidential marriage license for weddings taking place in Los Angeles County.

What type of identification do we need to obtain our marriage license?
One of the following ID's:
- current CA photo identification (driver license or identification)
- passport from any country
- Mexican Matricula Conselar card (with two witnesses)
- brith certificate ( with two witnesses)

Is there a waiting period, is blood test required, do we need witnesses?
No waiting period, no blood test, no witnesses needed. California does not have a waiting period or require a blood test before the couple can be married. We issue the marriage license * days a week, by appointment.

What is the difference between the confidential license and regular license?
One is public record and one is a private record. California vital records are public information. This means that information on the regular marriage license can be obtained by any interested party. The confidential license is a private vital record that can only be obtained by the bride and groom. A confidential license prevents any interested party from obtaining information on your marriage license which includes your mother’s maiden name, bride and grooms home address, birthdate, occupation etc.
