I struggled as a young man growing up in the inner cities of Paterson NJ, and Harlem NY with the paradox of living a double life. A part of me wanted to imitate my role models I which were the street hustler, and gang bangers in “The Hood”. The other side of me was driven by the desires to find my purpose in life, which was to become a master salesman. The former was a bi-product of my social strata, and the later evolved out my need to survive in an environment that offered me no guidance or protection. I took notice of my inclination for sales when I became the go-to-guy to sale grey-market-products to local merchants, and street vendors. I knew just where to take each item to the right buyer to get the sale. As the middle man I got a percentage of the selling price. My ability to know exactly where to take the goods gave me the reputation for getting the fast sale, and became my main source of income at the time.

When the time came for me to “get a real job” my first preference was to apply for a sales position. That’s when my life began to change for the better when I met my life-long friend and personal mentor Mr. Sam Howarth of Chathem NJ. For the next 30 years I was opened to his guidance, and he taught me everything an undisciplined young man from the streets needed to know about being well-spoken, etiquette, character building, integrity, furthering my education ,and how to hold a tennis racquet etc. At the time I had not changed my name from Frederick Adams, and he affectionately gave me the nickname “Orlando”, and since he was my all around life coach I called him “Cheefo”,and the rest as they say was history; I went on to graduate from an Ivy League School. My successful track record include selling a variety of products including being the top sales producer for many of the most prominent data processing, and data communication companies, real estate, and industrial chemicals. Must recently I creates “The CQ Test”, an analysis of how to break the cycle of self-contradiction.
