Jazz Bands

The Bok Choy Orchestra began with an impromptu live show on Greenfield, Massachusetts' GCTV in March 0f 2007. That show made it obvious that some really positive musical chemistry was going on so, we decided to do some gigs together. Bok Choy was featured monthly at The People's Pint in Greenfield and The Rendezvous in Turner's Falls for over a year. Also during that time, the group performed at The Onyx Fusion Bar in Springfield, the Log Cabin in Holyoke, and Look Park to name a few. Currently, Bok Choy has a house gig at The Hope and Olive in Greenfield, Massachusetts where we play the first Friday night of each month 9-12:00. The group members have rich and diverse musical histories, and bring their unique experiences and styles to each exciting performance. We try to approach our musical choices with respect to the jazz artists that came before us. These days our rehearsals consist of working on original arrangements of classic jazz standards, not-so-standards, blues and bop, and on original compositions. We have recording plans.
